i once saw this lady on the streets of Nairobi and i was so heart broken. My pals and i tried talking to her, she never spoke back. my gal gave her money and we told her to be at that same spot the next day so that we could bring her stuff, but she never showed up. i have always wondered what happened to her and with her baby's face and cry still in my head i write;
he was probably drunk or
needed some cheap lay
she was probably hungry with
no money to feed herself
he probably found her on the streets or
probably met her in a bar,
but they laid with each other
she probably was paid, but
cash that would not last her a
night
a child was the consequence
now she sits on the streets
but she does not beg
she just sits there looking lost in her
thoughts and
if you try converse with her
she acts like she don't understand
the baby is only one month old
but already sick from the cold
its immune system crapped up
'cause she cannot feed herself or
the baby.
does he know that a baby
resulted to his sexual satisfaction
that due to his action
there was a reaction
or
does his life continue as
if nothing happened?
see
we act like what we do
does not matter
we walk around acting like we do
not care
we walk in and out of peoples' lives
like we do not affect them
yet probably we left their
life course changed
yet probably we left effects
that lead to long life infections
for how long shall our fleshly lust,
our greed, our gluttonous of life
be more important than empathy
for how long shall we walk around
sunk in apathy
for how long shall we act as if
our actions do not have
consequences?
check yourself!!
